- Most effective when given before exposure to the virus, but also beneficial later in life
Vaccine Used: Gardasil 9 (covers nine high-risk HPV types) Schedule: Typically 2 or 3 doses depending on age
2. Chickenpox Vaccine (Varicella)
Who is it for?
- Children from 12 months of age
- Adults who have not previously had chickenpox or the vaccine
Why it’s important:
- Helps prevent chickenpox and its complications (fever, scarring, secondary infections)
- Especially recommended for adults at risk of exposure or complications (e.g. healthcare workers, teachers, parents)
