Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

A Face-to-Face, Clinician-Led Service Designed to Restore Male Hormone Health

At Bramley Pharmacy, we deliver a premium, pharmacist-led Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) service tailored exclusively for men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone. Our clinic operates in collaboration with Dr Amit Sra, a leading UK men’s health specialist, and the expert clinical team at Harley Street TRT.

This partnership ensures our patients receive medically robust, face-to-face care, with continuity, clinical rigour, and personalised attention at every stage. Unlike many telehealth providers, we combine in-person expertise with advanced diagnostics to deliver the safest and most effective outcomes.

Who Is This Service For?

Our TRT clinic is designed exclusively for men experiencing symptoms of testosterone deficiency or hypogonadism. If you are a woman seeking testosterone therapy as part of hormone replacement treatment, please book through our women’s HRT service.

What Is Testosterone Deficiency?

Testosterone is essential for maintaining:

  • Libido and erectile function
  • Energy, motivation, and recovery
  • Muscle mass and body composition
  • Mental clarity, mood, and sleep quality
  • Fertility and testicular function

Levels naturally decline from the age of 30, but for many men the drop becomes symptomatic, leading to physical, cognitive, and psychological concerns.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone

Common signs of testosterone deficiency include:

  • Reduced sex drive or fewer spontaneous erections
  • Erectile dysfunction or weaker morning erections
  • Low energy or post-exercise fatigue
  • Brain fog, forgetfulness, or difficulty concentrating
  • Low mood, irritability, or anxiety
  • Increased abdominal fat, reduced muscle mass
  • Poor sleep or insomnia
  • Testicular atrophy or reduced fertility

Step 1: Symptom Screening with ADAM Questionnaire

All patients complete the Androgen Deficiency in the Aging Male (ADAM) questionnaire to assess the breadth and severity of symptoms. This validated clinical tool allows us to evaluate suitability for treatment before testing begins.

Step 2: Comprehensive Blood Testing – £180

We conduct on-site laboratory blood draws, guided by best clinical practice. To ensure accurate readings:

  • Tests must be performed within 4 hours of waking, ideally before 11:00 a.m.
  • Fasting is required
  • Avoid intense physical exertion or sexual activity for 48 hours beforehand

Our blood panel includes:

  • Total and Free Testosterone
  • LH, FSH, SHBG
  • Estradiol (E2), Prolactin
  • PSA (if over 40)
  • Full Blood Count (FBC)
  • Liver enzymes, cholesterol, glucose

These results help us distinguish between primary and secondary hypogonadism, and ensure safe treatment planning.

Step 3: Personalised TRT Consultation and Treatment Plan

Initial Month: £200 + blood tests + medication

The first month includes up to four face-to-face consultations covering:

  • In-depth medical history and symptom assessment
  • Examination (if required)
  • Blood test interpretation
  • Treatment options (injectables, oral, topical)
  • Lifestyle and fertility discussions
  • Consent and safety monitoring

This allows time for structured decision-making, education, and personalised titration of therapy.

Ongoing Consultations and Monitoring

  • £200 per consultation thereafter
  • OR £200/month if more than one appointment is needed in a given month
  • Repeat prescriptions: £50, including a 15-minute review call or in-person check-in
  • Prescriptions issued for 4 to 12 weeks, based on clinical stability and progress

Medication & Injections

We offer a choice of licensed and unlicensed testosterone formulations:

  • Injectable Testosterone: Cypionate or Enanthate, self-administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly
  • Oral Testosterone: Kyzatrex® (Undecanoate)
  • Topical gels or patches: on a case-by-case basis

Medication costs are separate, but injectable prescriptions include:

  • Sharps bin
  • Syringes and needles

Note: Bramley Pharmacy does not dispose of sharps bins. Patients are advised to contact their local council. We provide clear guidance during your appointment.

Adjunct Therapies

To preserve fertility and optimise hormonal balance, we may prescribe:

  • HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)
  • Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid)
  • Aromatase Inhibitors (Anastrozole) to control excess oestrogen
  • Alpha-reductase inhibitors (e.g. Finasteride) for prostate and scalp health

Lifestyle Optimisation

We support men exploring alternatives to TRT or those seeking to enhance natural testosterone production:

  • High-dose zinc, magnesium, trace minerals
  • Shilajit resin – natural adaptogen supporting hormone health
  • Exercise, stress, sleep, and nutrition strategies

Clinical Monitoring & Safety

TRT requires long-term monitoring:

Week Milestone Cost
Week 1 Initial consultation + bloods £200 + £180
Weeks 2–4 Results review, treatment discussion, second bloods (if needed) Consultation included, £120 for optional repeat bloods
Week 6 Follow-up consultation + bloods £200 + £120
Month 3+ Ongoing monitoring (every 3–6 months) £120 per test

  • Mood instability, acne, water retention
  • Sleep apnoea or blood pressure elevation

We follow UK regulatory standards and MHRA/GPhC-compliant protocols for unlicensed medicines.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Can I stop TRT at any point?
Yes, but it must be tapered and monitored. Sudden withdrawal can lead to fatigue, mood changes, and hormonal instability.

Q: Will TRT affect my fertility?
Yes. Without adjuncts, TRT suppresses sperm production. We offer solutions to preserve fertility while on treatment.

Q: Can I use this service if I’m currently with an online TRT provider?
Yes. We welcome transfers. We’ll request your previous test results and offer a full clinical reassessment.

Q: Why do I need regular blood tests?
TRT can affect your red cell count, liver, prostate, and cardiovascular markers. Testing ensures your treatment remains safe and effective.

Q: How quickly will I feel better?
Improvements in mood, libido, and energy can occur within 4–6 weeks. Body composition and muscle changes usually follow after 8–12 weeks.

Q: What makes this service better than online clinics?
We offer face-to-face appointments, physical checks, and individualised care – backed by clinical training, collaboration with Dr Amit Sra, and support from Harley Street TRT.

Q: Can I bring my partner to the consultation?
Yes. We encourage it. Partners often spot early changes and support treatment compliance.
